Seeing Inside Your Assets Without Disruption
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) comprises the essential techniques used to evaluate the properties and integrity of a material, component, or system without causing damage. Advanced NDT moves beyond traditional methods, offering greater accuracy, speed, and data-rich results.
BQCIS utilizes a suite of advanced NDT solutions, such as Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Time-of-Flight Diffraction (ToFD), and Computed Radiography. These methods provide detailed, 3D visualizations of internal structures, allowing for precise detection and sizing of flaws like cracks, corrosion, and porosity.
By deploying these techniques, we help clients make critical decisions about asset integrity with confidence. We can inspect complex welds, screen long-range pipelines from a single point, and generate instant digital x-rays, all while minimizing downtime and maximizing safety.
Our Advanced NDT Applications
Key Benefits of Advanced NDT
Higher Accuracy & Detection
Find and accurately size smaller, more complex flaws that traditional NDT methods (like liquid penetrant or standard UT) would miss.
Get Digital, Traceable Data
Receive comprehensive digital reports, 3D color-maps, and permanent records for superior auditing and analysis.
Faster Inspection Times
Eliminate film processing and conduct rapid scans of large areas, significantly reducing asset downtime and labor costs.
Improve Operational Safety
Reduce or eliminate the need for radiation (radiography) and allow for in-service inspections without shutdowns.
Success Story
PAUT Inspection Prevents Critical Pipeline Failure
A new high-pressure gas pipeline featured several complex, thick-wall welds that could not be reliably inspected with traditional X-rays due to the geometry.
BQCIS technicians deployed Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), which uses multiple angles to build a complete 3D map of the entire weld volume.
The PAUT scan identified critical sub-surface "lack of fusion" defects that the initial X-rays missed. This allowed for a targeted, pre-service repair, preventing a catastrophic failure.
